Jalopy
Brooklyn, NY

We were staying at the hotel just across the street from Jalopy, so we walked over a little on the early side (not much to do in the hotel). Audra was there and was incredibly welcoming and friendly to me and the girls, which really set the mood for the evening. The girls grabbed some of the nice buffet of food. Camille sat down, but Chloe ran inside and out. She settled in finally to color one of the coloring books that Astrograss brought with them. We also watched the different bands arrive, which was quite fun. Then Chloe and I spotted Sienna and Persephone walking down the street! Once Persephone woke up fully, the two girls went back to being great friends.

The show started with Hayes Greenfield playing some of his "green" songs. He had Audra and Ella get on stage to help with the Turbines song (my bonny). Next was Randy Kaplan, who was moving the next day, but still managed to come out and play some fun songs. Astrograss made it through the Brooklyn Neighborhood Song (whew). Uncle Rock came on, and he had two HUGE fans in the audience, Chloe and Persephone. They hoped up on stage to join him, and were perfect for the "SugarTalking'", as they probably had more of the little cookies than anyone else. I missed a few acts after that, hanging out with the girls outside. I hope there's some video of the Dees singing their song about Bill. Ernie and Neal Rocked the House! The girls were their backup singers for Best Friend. Bari Koral was awesome -- first time I've seen them live. Then Lunch Money, who came all the way from South Carolina. The Jimmies were great! Ashely did a "rapping" song and was fantastically fun. AudraRox was the final band, rockin' and having a great time. For the finale, she called the bands up on stage one by one, until there were more people on stage than in the audience. It was amazing and ended the evening on such a high note, we couldn't bear to leave!

Thanks to Jalopy, Bill, Audra, Pokey Pup, KindieRock PR and all the rest for putting on such a fantastic event!
